CUT-TO-LENGTH LINES

COE's Value-Added Series Cut-to-Length (CTL) Blanking Systems automate the process of uncoiling, straightening, shearing, and stacking sheet metal blanks from metal coils. By bringing this process in-house, companies can eliminate external processing and transportation fees, reduce inventory, and improve quality control. These CTL lines are customizable, using proven feeds, straighteners, and reels, along with COE's own shear and stacking solutions, to meet specific needs across various industries. The systems are capable of handling a wide range of materials with specifications including coil widths from 1 to 78 inches, thicknesses from 0.010 to 0.725 inches, and weights up to 60,000 pounds, at speeds up to 250 FPM.

BLANKS VS COILS:
HOW CUT-TO-LENGTH LINES BOOTH YOUR BOTTOM LINE (WEBINAR)

Cut-to-length (CTL) processing is a strategic solution for fabricators facing rising material costs, labor shortages, and unpredictable supply chains, offering a cost-effective alternative to purchasing pre-cut blanks. Adopting an in-house CTL line significantly reduces scrap by enabling precise length cuts from custom-width coils and provides greater process control, allowing for on-demand production, improved quality monitoring, and reduced material handling to prevent damage. Successful integration hinges on facility readiness, selecting high-quality coil suppliers, and effectively managing coil variations through proper equipment specification. Manufacturers must avoid pitfalls like compromising on coil quality or neglecting comprehensive workflow planning, as automation can further simplify operation and reduce the learning curve.

HOW A COE CUT-TO-LENGTH LINE TRANSFORMED A MANUFACTURING PROCESS
